Our Work: Safety

Secured passage in the 2011 Legislature a bill to create a Taskforce on Teen Driving Safety that will evaluate data, laws and current practices regarding teen driving in South Dakota. Taskforce members will provide recommendations for improving teen driving safety to the 2013 Legislature.
Seat belts: Research established that parents who buckle up as a habit influence their children to do the same. That prompted design and distribution of a buckle-up reminder that adheres to a vehicle's instrument panel. Click here to request the Grab Tug Click cling.
Booster seats: Voices advocates for strengthening South Dakota law by requiring the use of booster seats for 5- to 8-year-olds.
