Quality care and early education are core components of a strong and economically vibrant community.
This recognition and the fact that in Rapid City, 70 percent of children younger than 6 are in families where all parents are in the workforce prompted the Rapid City Area Council on Early Care and Education to develop a community response to improve the quality of care and early learning.
As part of that effort, the group earlier this year conducted a survey of child care realities and needs among parents in Rapid City. The results give a picture of infant/child care issues and needs that could have far-reaching implications for the community?s economic growth.
The results of that survey, related research and recommendations have been compiled in a publication, Fulfilling Our Responsibility: Major findings from the Rapid City Child Care Survey and related research. Click here for the full report.
