South Dakota Voices for children is governed by a 23-member volunteer board of directors elected to serve two-year terms. Directors may be reelected to a maximum of three consecutive terms. Current board members include the following:

Policy Committee:
This committee recommends policies and strategies to ensure the well-being of all children in South Dakota. In doing so it develops public and non-governmental policy agendas and strategies for implementation at the local, state and federal levels.

Research Committee:
This committee studies, evaluates and recommends to the Policy Committee policies and programs to ensure the well-being of children in South Dakota by identifying status, available resources and unmet needs of children in South Dakota.

Communications and Development Committee:
This committee has responsibility for recruiting and building Voices' membership, developing a fund-raising plan to support Voices' work, and seeks ways to increase public awareness of Voices and of the status and needs of the South Dakota's children. The committee also works to increase the communication and networking among organizations and individuals concerned about South Dakota's children as well as recognizing individuals and organizations who have achieved significant gains for South Dakota children.
